Last night, our etsy shop got 10 new additions! Yay!! The new additions include: completely unique glass phone charms and perler beads made into familiar symbols or characters!

The glass phone charms are actually something I myself started making 4 years ago as a hobby. I made them to give out to friends and family and finally thought to sell them, but never really got far because I wasn't very serious about selling them in the first place. They were all made with care, and I have hand-tested all of them. Most of them will survive a fall onto the ground (Let's just say that in 4 years using several different ones, I've never had one break, but I can imagine it happening to 1/100 of them.) and the string is INCREDIBLY strong. You can use these to pull your phone out of your pocket (my favorite), to swing it in circles, you can fling your phone using it as a catapult, you can attach it to your zippers, you can buy 5 and attach them to your lampshade for decoration... The only thing I would not suggest you do with them is put them on your keys. I've tried it, and it got tangled up one too many times for my taste. Each phone charm you buy is the only one like it, so you will always have a unique piece.

The perler beads aren't actually something I know a lot about, but I do know that they were made well (Woof is a perfectionist when it comes to something that she makes) and that you could use them as art, christmas ornaments, keychains, coasters, and Woof will make any of them into magnets if you would prefer! I happen to know that there is also a tri-force necklace available, as well, made out of perler beads!

Run on over and check out the new arrivals!

Back to the Future

So, now that I have Pokemon Black to play with, I also have a bit of work to do with the etsy shop. Woof and I got two hoodies to make into messenger bags: Raphael from TMNT and one with Red Bull on it. Here's a little sneak peek of generally what the description will be:

"This bag was originally a hoodie, and is hand-sewn into a bag. The sewing is very strong and has proven to be able to hold over fifty pounds and can hold just about anything you need to transport. I've had my own hoodie bag for 5 years and have never had to patch it up or re-sew anything, and each day I put about 20-30 pounds worth of stuff in it. Just like a wearable hoodie, this sort of use will stretch it. Also like a real hoodie, it is machine washable (this has turned out to be very useful to me). Due to the way it is sewn though, only the big part of the hoodie can be turned inside out. I've found this bag to be the most comfortable 'messenger bag' I've ever owned, and unlike most messenger bags, it doesn't hurt if it gets heavy. The weight is distributed evenly and comfortably over the soft cotton sleeves. Private message me if you have any other questions about the bag or what it can take. If I don't know the answer, I will test it for you and let you know!"

What I didn't write is that in order to make sure the bags can really stand up to university life, which is probably the most strenuous life the bag will ever have. The TMNT bag has shown that the sewing is good and strong and comfy and everything it should be, and the Red Bull bag will be done in a couple of days. They will go up at 15.00 and 4.00 shipping. I'm so excited to share what I've been enjoying for so many years!!! I should probably pay attention to class now.

The ol' Switcheroo

Earlier today, Woof and I were switching off answering a person's conversations on etsy when I suddenly realized that some people might think that she and I are the same person, crazy enough to want two personalities on the internet. The reason this occurred to me? You have to promise not to judge me.... I have seen the neopets messaging boards. One person was role playing as two people at once, and I remember thinking 'really? Why don't you just write a story and get it over with?'

One of the biggest differences between me and Woof is a very simple one: she is never scared, and I am perpetually scared. Even if you put me in a room full of cotton, no doors, no windows, just one nightlight and a TON of cotton, I would look around and my mind would turn the shadows of the cotton into monsters. Woof, on the other hand, always sleeps peacefully even if she just watched a scary movie. Jerk. Also, I snore. There. I said it.

The reason we call ourselves Mew and Woof is simple too. I'm more introverted than Woof. I have a gazillion acquaintances, but very very few friends. Woof has lots and lots of friends, and she's really social. Another good example is that she's often texting one person or another. I can count the amount of people I text on one hand.

I am not Woof... Woof is not me.... I promise!

On another note! Woof and I just got two hoodies. We're going to make them into messenger bags. One is Rafael from TMNT and the other is a redbull hoodie. The TMNT hoodie is already done, and should be up soon, and the red bull one is tomorrow. Finally, here is a video. Tonight we're playing fallout 3, and this video is from that game. It should be good for a laugh or two. Ni ni!

Things were taped to my ceiling.

Yeah, that's right; things were taped to my ceiling. A lot of them were.

Today I started the long journey home sometime around 4 PM - the commute shoulda taken 40 minutes to an hour. Thanks to the wonderful City of Brotherly love, I drifted from pocket of traffic to pocket of traffic for close to two and a half hours. Thanks, Philly. Thanks.

Anyway, I made it home. I was greeted by a big black dog, who I call, lovingly, my mutt, and my mommy, who told me about how someone had driven their car through our front yard. Someone never learned how to put a car in reverse, I assume. Went out to dinner, came back and watched a movie with the family. It was pretty nice.

I went upstairs, it's like 11 PM now. My door was closed nearly all the way, which I didn't think anything of, since this is generally a futile effort by one of the parents to keep the mutt out of my room. He thinks my bed is his bed, you see.

I opened the door and flipped on the lights.

Hanging upside-down on my fan were two rubber ducks. A third, along with three different remotes, Darth Vader, a camera, and a poster were in various positions on my ceiling. The walls were lined with pencils, pens, trinkets, a bean-bag lizard, an Arcanine, and a frisbee. My bed was made, but my pillows were on the opposite end of the bed. On my computer desk was a note written by my younger sister, in colored pencil, that read "April Fools! Ha ha ha!"

One thing crossed my mind when I flicked that light switch on. One crystal clear statement.

"Man, someone replaced my lightbulbs! The walls definitely look less purple when there's more than just one lightbulb burning."

In any event, Mew and I have finally gotten our Etsy shop up and running! We're pro like that, yo. Visit it here! Visit, browse, support some starving college students!

Chewin' up your socks,
Woof

Hello, World.

So, this is our first post. And rather than saying we're awesome, or why you should tune in regularly, I'm going to post a video from youtube of a song that illustrates exactly why I love triops (even though Woof says we can't have any).

I want a triops...... Anyhow, here are the things we're posting tomorrow on etsy. Special sneak preview!!!
